Compact lighting?

I'm in need of some powerful source of light which can be taken into the forests for nighttime shots.

Do any of you know of any sources for this sort of thing?

I saw a 10 million candle torch for sale the other day, it was $90 AUD. Perhaps that would do the job?

if you dont use any sound, try getting a small agreggator (dont know what its called in english, its a small motor that runs on diesel or something like that, that'll produce enough Watt for two construction lights (about 1 KW each)

In the UK we call it a generator.

A friend of mine just wrapped up a shoot in the back woods of West Virginia and he used one of these to power the lights for a couple night scenes.

He said that he positioned his truck between the generator and the clearing that they were shooting in and he didn't have any problems with the audio.

Have you tried looking at Target?

Interesting thing about the bulbs in this one... "Twin-beam, ultrawhite, halogen blue bulbs". I wonder if the light from these bulbs is supposed to approximate the color temperature of daylight?
